Roger Killan, the presenter of TEDxStanelyPark came to us after deciding to move his TED conference from the Waterfront Theatre on Granville Island to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in the heart of downtown. However, to fill the new venue, he had to sell almost three times the amount of tickets he did the previous year. To tackle the challenge we were hired to bring people to the event.
Without a huge marketing budget, we had to utilize a grassroots campaign using direct messaging campaigns, social media buzz, affiliate marketing, and email marketing to spread the word. We facilitated several contests from prizes donated to the non-profit organization to help create excitement and spread the word.
It was a very successful event. In total we more than doubled ticket sales from last year and trended in first spot on social media in Canada.
